Forgot to mention the things we used to clean with - mats were cleaned in Benzene. Mag brushes were dipped in Benzene and inserted from dis. end. Moulds were wiped with Benzene. Plungers were either wire brushed or inserted into one of those bench mounted cleaners whereby you turned a handle (both methods producing copious amounts of dust). We'd put a new bar on and then the tea trolley would come round and we would eat a packet of crisps! Also the graphite powder we used on spacebands - just to the left of our faces! and these days we even put on a mask to change brake pads on our cars!
