The 15th Annual Chicago Autumn Feis will be held on Sunday, November 5th, 2017
The Chicago Autumn Feis is happy to announce that registration is now open. Go to www.QuickFeis.com secure your spot in the 2017 Chicago Autumn Feis.
The Chicago Autumn Feis is hosted by the Dennehy School of Irish Dance Parent’s Club, and we are very proud to be offering this exciting feis for the 15th Annual Year. We are happy to be back at North Central College’s Recreation Center at 440 S. Brainard Street, Naperville, IL. This is a wonderful feis for dancers preparing for the Midwest Oireachtas. We encourage all schools to bring their soloists and ceili teams to participate in this very lively day of competitions.
QuickFeis has been fully updated with 2017 information, including this year's Syllabus and registration information. Please read the syllabus carefully! More information (including a list of vendors, parking information, competitor list, adjudicators/musicians, and more) will be posted to our website as that information becomes available. Just go to Dennehydancers.com and select the “Chicago Autumn Feis” tab in the top right corner.
The Stage Schedule will not be available until after all entries close. However, we can let you know that First Feis and all Beginner 1 competitions will be right at the beginning of the day, along with figures. We will mostly likely run the rest of the day by grades. There will be 5 grade stages to help ensure a quickly and smoothly running day. Time estimates for these will not be known until closer to the feis, when registration closes. Once the course of the day is confirmed we will let you know.
There will be 3 stages running PC/OC competitions. We will most likely run these three stages in the following way: one OC stage will run oldest to youngest; the other OC stage will run youngest to oldest; PC stage will run youngest to oldest. This decision will not be final until all entries close as stage scheduling is based on the number of dancers we have in each competition. Our goal is to make sure the day runs as quickly and smoothly as possible. Dancers will dance TWO AT A TIME and start in LIGHT SHOES.
We are proud to offer soda bread, arts & crafts, and music competitions at the 2017 Feis. The Chicago Autumn Feis is committed to promoting Irish Culture in our community, and this of course includes offering opportunities to our many talented singers, musicians, artists, and bakers.
The Dennis Dennehy Perpetual Cup will be awarded to the winner of the oldest men’s open championship competition. Even if the men are comined with the ladies competitions, the trophy will be awards to the highest placing man. The winner of the Senior Ladies Open Championship will be offered the Marge Dennehy Perpetual Cup.
More information about the area around North Central College, hotel, restaurants, and much more will be updated to our website in the upcoming weeks.
Our entry caps are as follows: 850 for Beginner through Prizewinners, 250 Preliminary Champs, 150 Open Champs. Online registration will close on October 27th OR when caps are met, whichever comes first. This feis fills quickly. Reserve your spot now!
