Dear John,

my main purpose here is as Devil's advocate. A lot of the time I don't believe the arguments I put forward.

I am gradually refining my life philosophy through discussion and introspection. To aid in a fuller understanding of the world, I try to consider all viewpoints. The best way to get these is by challenging people to defend their beliefs.

In that, I have achieved my goal, right?
