Hello,
First off, just want to reiterate that your 486Core/Base appears to be an outstanding product! I am currently doing some consulting for a company who needs an embedded PC, and after scouring the marketplace, have come close to settling on your boards. My customer's requirement is that there be a color VGA LCD display on board (the product is basically a handheld pc, but for a specific purpose in mind). Anyway, I am trying to figure out how to determine if the LCD I am currently looking at can be used with the 486Base extension. It is a standard color VGA STN module made by Sharp. Its model number is LM8V31 (it comes with a built in touchscreen...check out www.sharpmeg.com, then go to products, displays,STN, and then look for LM8V31). I read that the connector on the LCD(2) port of the 486Base is a 26 pin header. Is there a way to tell if this LCD panel can be connected to the 486Base without much hassle? I know that your company provides this "LCD Evaluation" service with the 486Core development kit (for $795....which includes a high-end 486Core/Base combo, I'll probably be getting this as well). But since I need to get some numbers/prices to my customer in the near future, I was wondering if I could get a rough estimate on how difficult this would be.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated....Additionally, I assume I would have to contact the North American Sales Office if I wanted to purchase several of these boards, correct? I am in the USA, and assume that this is who I would go through.
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
John Orlando
