Broken Love

Your not supposed to love someone
When they love to abuse you
I tell myself this everyday
Yet for me it's just no use
Even though it's not physical
His words hurt more than any bruise
Only these wounds don't heal
How can you love someone so much
Your life is worth looking in their eyes
When you'd rather die than say goodbye
To the point you'll believe all their lies
What they say is not always true
I do love myself
But I married him and I love him too
Living everyday with all the pain
Of the love I'd always wished for
And the intense power first love has over you
This isn't a beautiful love poem
Only a poem about love that is true.
