To believe or not to believe, this is the question? Is God an entity or a value system? Did he create us or did we create him? I have often been envious of those who seem to know for certain there is a God. I have never felt anything but sadness for those who say that there is no god. Is this due to a need for a benevolent, all powerful father figure, to keep right and wrong in its place, a gold standard of moral absolutes? Probably, but is that so bad?
How can I come into this world without asking too, live in a world I can not control, and eventually die and not ask why? Is it all by chance and therefore nothing really matters or did something that started from nothing bring me to this point to ask these questions, have a purpose? I think it is to ask about right and wrong, to feel love and to hold out hope that there is a God.
