Subject: Design of tumble Gear

Hello ,
My name is Ramesh, Now i am doing my Master Thesis, as a part of my thesis, I have to design Tumble gear(which have tumbling Action). Firstly i want to learn how to design a gear. If you have any consised material about Gear design Please forward it to me.
And one more thing, is it possible to design the gears in CATIA V5. If so how can i approach.
