Subject: gear cutting depth

Hi I am Kalpana working with a gear box manufacturing co. We are studying about addendum calculation of helical gears. My question is by taking standard depth while cutting gear on hobbing machine , wheather we will be able to maintain span in case of helical gear with addendum calculation or should the depth be the different from that used in case of cutting the same helical gear without addendum modification so as to maintain the span ?
