Subject: State Of The Bulldogs Address

Well, its time for the state of the Bulldogs address, my assessment of the Bulldogs following the first five games of the season. The Bulldogs opened the season with three future Federal League opponents in GlenOak, Perry, and Jackson. The future did not look so good early on as the Bulldogs fell 28-14 to GlenOak. Then matters worsened as Perry controlled the football for 41 minutes in an emphatic 24-7 win, and the Bulldogs seemed poised to break the string of losses, but the Jackson Polar Bears rebounded from a 14-0 deficit to dismember the Bulldogs 22-14, with all three losses coming at Fawcett Stadium, thus the grumbling of fans was conceived following all the hoopla engulfing McKinley. If it threatened to crack the team bondage, the Bulldogs put it behind them as they pounded Waterdown, Canada 45-14, and played another fine game in a hard fought 31-28 shootout against Ohio Central Conference power Grove City, to end the Bulldogs first half of the season at 1-4. No doubt that this is an arduous season, and the challenge gets tougher when the next five teams, Theodore Roosevelt (Wash. D.C.), Cleveland St. Ignatius (Division I State Champions), Warren Harding High School (#1 in Ohio Division I poll), Aquinas Inst. (NYHSAA Division I state champions), and the Bulldogs most formidable opponent, Massillon (Ohio 2001 Regional Champions)challenge the Bulldogs. A comeback is still possible this season, even a winning season is still not out of the question, despite charlatan fans who think they know the game so well think the Bulldogs have no hope. How many times have the Bulldogs been counted out but still find a way to make something happen? Isn't that what Canton McKinley is known for? Why are they three time state playoff champions? Because they never quit when the odds were against them! The Bulldogs know that these five games will not be easy, but if the pieces fall together, the Bulldogs can finish .500 or 6-4 and use that as a confidence builder for the 2003 season. One thing is for sure as the Bulldogs brace themselves for the second half of the season: They are going to give it all they have and they will leave it all out on the field with heart, class, and dignity, so after reading this state of the Bulldogs address, if you rescind your mind and opt to fight it out with the Bulldogs, good. If you still remain with the Bulldogs after reading this, great! If you want to stay home and grumble till basketball season, fine with me but the Canton McKinley Bulldogs are not going away into the sunset without a fight, you can count on that!! GO BULLDOGS!!!! CANTON MCKINLEY IS WHERE CHAMPIONS ARE MADE AND SUCCESS IS TRADITION!!!!!!!!
