Subject: More 7 on 7 Results

The Canton McKinley Bulldogs in Wednesday's 7 on 7 lost two and split with North Canton Hoover, Orrville, and Chillicothe. The Bulldogs lost to Orrville 28-7 in which Adam Studeny threw the lone touchdown pass for the Bulldogs in that go around, and another loss came to Chillicothe 35-14 in which Matt Mitchell fired two TD passes to Dorian Chenault and Christian Smith, and the Bulldogs split with North Canton 14-14 in which Mitchell threw two 42 yard TD's to Dorian Chenault. Overall, by the numbers, here is my assessment for the Bulldogs based on five categories on a 50 point scale, with 10 being highest: Hard work, commitment, player and coach rapport, strength, and 7 on 7.
How the Bulldogs fared:
1. Hard work: Except for several late running Dawgs, everyone attended the Canton McKinley football camp the previous two weeks and that was a bright spot. They are looking forward to the season, and they have impressed me. Score: 9/10.
2. Commitment: Everyone on the team knew from the get-go that they were donning the red & black, and they were intent on what they had to do, and I feel everyone bonded together and it will carry to August. Score: 10/10.
3. Player to coach rapport: The coaches and players knew and adapted well to each other, but can they hold that bond? Only time will tell, but I felt that the linemen REALLY out of all the coaches and players developed a rock solid rapport with each other, and that will set the tone for the underclassmen. Score: 10/10. (Their hard work was a no brainer).
4. Strength: The line will no doubt open up lines for the commitment in the weight room was an X factor to my choice here, and in camp. All they have to do is carry it over to the field and the rest will take care of itself. Score: 10/10.
5. 7 on 7: The Bulldogs won two, lost two, and split two, but I like Matt Mitchell. He is really seizing his opportunity to be the next QB at Canton McKinley. I believe Mike Shaffer needs some more comeuppance. The passing game may improve and be possibly 1 or 2 in Stark County. Defensively, two impact players in Kevin Zollicoffer and Adam Studeny likely will make noise in the secondary. Both led in interceptions during the 7 on 7, and I see nothing wrong going, but these two will be liable for bringing up the cornerbacks and safeties. Now if John Miller can put his offense to work.......... Score: 8/10. TOTAL: 47/50. ALMOST A STATE CHAMPION.
More Bulldogs football news will be posted but for now, I'm off until other news come till August 5th which begins two-a-day practices. GO CANTON MCKINLEY RUNNIN'BULLDOGS, THE ROAD TO CANTON FOR THE SUPER BOWL OF H.S. FOOTBALL, DIVISION I HAS BEGUN!!!!!!!!!
