Most of you guys are very immature for thinking that everyone that you don't know, has a nice camera or looks "suspicious" is an undercover cop. If the cops wanted to bust heads, they would just do it. They don't care if you guys know whats going on or not. Chances are they know who's racing and who isn't. Highly doubtful they are going to stick an undercover officer into the Domestic scene. I am not saying that it hasn't happend in the past, but with Drag Nets limited funding I seriously doubt any undercover activity is taking place.

With streetracing's newly found stardom, you can bet your ass that the cops will be cracking down on the Togo's parking lot. It has become a freak fest. I've seen everything there from a Geo Metro that looks like it belongs in a night club to a primered POS Chevelle that sits on a trailer where it belongs. Streetracing as we used to know it is dead. Enter the new realm of punk kids who are hooking up cheap imports like early civics, early integs, etc... and driving like morons breaking every law they can. It's ridiculous. When most of you domestic fans were in your younger years, did you put neon lights under your car? Install ridiculously large stereo systems which can be heard from a mile away? Did you drive around certain known race spots with your system blaring, neons glowing and a hawaiian punch can at the end of your exhaust? Chances are no. The sport, and yes I am caling it a sport, has digressed so much over the last 5 years that I am sick of it. I can't drive around town in my bone stock dd without being challenged it seems. These are just some of my views and in no way should be taken as literal content of SDMS.

I've heard otherwise with regards to the undercover thing but yes true street racing is dead.

I retract my prior statement. However, they are just trying to do their jobs and make our streets a little safer. Most of their anger and pent up agrssions towards streetracers has come from the melee of rice that they end up chasing every Friday and Saturday night. So in one aspect I do understand their side of the ball. Upholding the law is what they do. Streetracing is what you guys do. Food for thought from an old man.

I have total respect for what they do. Like you said, it's their job. I know a couple of cops and they just laugh when i tell them what i do. but they also tell me if they ever caught me doin it on their beat then they would have to bust me. I understand its just business, nothing personal. Its always a good idea to look at things from several points of view so i do put myself in their shoes and I do understand. I'm not a hater.

We will keep doing our racing as safe as we possibly can and they will have to keep trying to put a stop to that. its all part of the big picture.

The double standard going on. A while ago I helped a friend of mine install nitrous on 2 different cop's civilian cars (a 91 Z28 and an 82 Corvette). Do you think they used that on the track only??? nope. I witnessed their test and tune first hand on the city streets. HAHA Some cops like to get their yah yahs on the street too. The only difference is if they get pulled over, they just whip out their "Brass Pass". I wish I had me a brass pass:(

Actually DragNet does have the funding for undercovers. they keep getting money for funding like they just won the lotto. not only that but there were 6 cop cars count them 1,2,3,4,5,6 with 2 cops in each car. thats 12 police officers, im guessing they were from dragnet cause if they werent shouldnt they have been out catching real criminals?

Your right togos has turned into a car circus. i pulled in to the lot on sat and i saw trucks with hydraulics and bags, i mean cummon make your car fast, buy some go fast goodies or sumthing, with all the neon that is there you would think we were in vegas.

that one of the undercovers drives a late model black Camero, not the big dude with the fast one that pulls the wheels off the ground but a stocker black Camaro.

there is also supposedly a 86' white chevy suburban, that people have said is a undercover.

Ok. Dragnet officers are plain clothes cops. The officers you saw were probably regular beat officers responding to a call. If they were dragnet you wouldn't have known till you got a wake up call at 7am.
Togos has taken a turn for the worse and it's good to hear that there is another less conspicuous spot that the actual racers are starting to flock to. I really hope the Circus side show doesn't find the goods.

DragNet is plain clothed and uniformed officer's and detectives. Not only that, it was a holiday weekend. Why were they bothering with us? When they could have been out patrolling the streets and getting the drunk drivers off the road. There were four fatalities this weekend that were all drunk driving related. No one was causing any harm. there was no fighting, no drinking.
