Best lap today by Andrew Cowin(driving the NY/Steinbrenner rail) 4.49 at 324.89.Fastest 1/8 mile clock in history at 277 mph.Now that's moving the groceries.Tony Pedregon wasn't far off on speed in a F/C at 322!!!His boss ran a 4.74 at 296.Speed slowed due to him almost hitting left side guardrail.Saw Bob Glidden looked good in pits,but got outta shape and had to shut off early.Wish I can be there tommorrow and Sun too.Rico and EC have a good time tomm. Im not one to start a post,nor am I a shit talker,but I felt like we need something else to talk about.Im in to all kinds of motorsports,Drags,Sprints,F-1,you name it I love em all.But the real action is in Rallying.Yes rally racing.It may not be heads up on a strip or a race filled with 10,20, or even 43 cars and drivers at one given time,but if you have never seen a rally race I urge everyone to watch (if they can get it on their cable network) Speedvision at 8:00p.m. p.s.t. on Fri.,Sat.,and Sun.I have followed these types of races for awhile now and still I can't believe the car control these drivers have.Racing all over the continent,in all sorts of conditions.Monte Carlo,Sweden,Kenya,Australia etc.In Asphalt,snow,desert,gravel and whatever good ol' Mother Nature brings to the table.The driving...rapping the throttle,lots of left foot braking,over/under steering,e braking,constant gear changing,and when you're on a 60-70 mile journey and the car happens to break down...well they play mechanics too.The focus these drivers have is tremendous.Not knowing what's coming around the next bend or hill is always exiting,(i.e. a 300lb ox or a man made obstacle such as a 2 foot wall of rocks by people opposed to such racing).Relying on the co-drivers charts of the track layout is another factor,its like having another set of eyes in the opposite seat,you can only hope they did their homework or you might find yourself goin over a 300 foot cliff.(_8^(I) DOH!!!!!!!!!I could go on and on bout this stuff,but check it out for yourselfs if you haven't already.And like I said in the beginning of my post,Im not a shittalker,so by leaving a false name like John Milner,I hope I'm not offending anyone,but that stuff is getting old.And like Hacksaw would say "REACTION!!!,I want to hear from you San Diego!!!!!!!!!!!" To: Concerned, contacting some of the sponsors of the racelegal event is DEFINITELY going to happen. I have discussed the details with an attorney (one who is an avid drag racer) and he basically said the same thing as you about the loss of wages due to being fired. He also mentioned Extortion, abuse of process, slander, libel and defamation of character. He is comming down from LA soon to come look at a camaro for sale at which point we will discuss the finer details.

To Eric: No, nobody has been fired yet. but there has been reprimands and discussion of that. I basically want to make sure that this jack-ass doesn't do it to other people. that is my main concern.

Jack basically rubbed me the wrong way by showing what a smart ass prick he is. He is so convinced that he got Curt to quit street racing and at that I have to laugh.

Bracket racers, old school street racers, Ford fans, Carlsbad regulars, may know Todd Ferguson from his 10 second small block Cougar or his 9 second BBC '67 Cougar. or even his 11 second 1.8L dunebuggy. He is a madman on the christmas tree and divisional champ bracket racer that used to run on the streets with Greg D, Ricky, et. al.

FYI:
Todd was involved in an off-roading accident in his dunebuggy out at Glamis(?) over New years. He had to be life flighted to the hospital after he nose planted his rail going off a 25' razor back. Todd is in Scripps hospital in an induced coma due to massive head injuries (fractured skull, shattered eye socket) and is in stable but critical condition.

Todd is a good guy. Those of you that have been lucky enough to meet him know that he is a whiz when it comes to mechanics, fabrication, bracket racing, and building motors (especially Fords), and tuning. I know his wife Neina and 2 kids could use the support of the local racing community whether you know him or not. Until I find out more info like which Scripps fascility he is in, please post your get well wishes to him and his family so I can forward them on to Neina. Thanks.

Looks like people are willing to take the chance. Just when you thought Drag Net ruined things... The Twin Turbo RX-7, the Turbo & Nitrous BMW M3, the Stallion Concept Mustang, all challenged for the Trophy on Saturday night and the result???...... read the top of the page for the current holder. Apparently, the word is... Drag Net is not able to make the video tape evidence stick in court and cases are being dismissed left and right. Keep in mind that still doesn't prevent them from impounding your car and dragging you through the whole process though.

I am driving thru Clairmont last night in the beater Toyota and I get pulled over. OK I was speeding a little... big deal. So the cop runs the plate and all that shit they normally do. Then, I don't know if he saw the 20HP stickers on the back of my truck or what but he hands me one of those "street racing is illegal" flyers. WTF is that? I told him that the beater Toyota isn't exactly a race car and just because I was speeding doesn't make me a street racer. Cop tells me "I just thought you might be interested. Spread the word around to your friends." Then he lets me go without even giving me a ticket. Again I say WTF is that? I dont think I have ever seen him up at the lot or busting up the races before but he seems to know what my story is.
