    DEAD DEAD DEAD.... I got up to the lot and immediately noticed an absence of heavy hitter cars up there. I think some people were preparing for the SRA event the next day. Somebody said Dave V. was there for a little bit but he must have left before I got there. The lot was full of the usual stangs, camaros, 4 door '57 Chevies and a clean looking 1st gen camaro that was rust color with stripes. Jeff had told me it was out at the import runs giving the fastest imports out there 2 and the go and he was smokin' them pretty bad (not saying much) and so I was going to go see if he wanted a crack at a domestic car. Since Purple People Eater was late getting up to the lot, the camaro was gone already when he pulled up. So PPE and I head down to the short strip. On the way down there, the Orange Ford anal Probe a la Fast and Furious goes blowing by us when were sitting at a red light flames comming out his fart pipe and all. ooooooooo, he's cool! Anyway, we get to the short track and the street is so clear not even a cop on it. No rust color Camaro either. So we go cruzin' thru the parking lot and there are a few imports parked there. The drivers are looking at us like: what are you doing here? I'm waiting to see if somebody is going to talk smack to EC so he can saw the guy off and shame him in front of all his buddies. Nothing! So we're off to the old track. we get there and they already have a mustang pulled over on the side. We get down to the lot and not a soul! So we head back to Togo's and theres nobody there either. Ended up just sitting around chit chatting in the togo's lot for another 45 min. WHA HOPPON? Where did everybody go? Anyway, we eventually got bored and went home. Oh and Braham needs new plug wires on the Jalopy.

  • Recap of Saturday Night 10/27 -- Rico, Monday, October 29, 10:25:36am
    Well It took a few attempts, but it turned out to be a half way decent night of racing. Rolled out for the first time in a LONG time with Eric and the Purple People Eater anxious to see how the new ET Streets work. Dave V. was there with his Camaro but left pretty early. Kinda funny that he did not wanna wait around for Curt considering some of the shit he has been saying (more on that later). Didn't matter anyway, I found out from June that Curt was in Vegas (for the SEMA show?) and would not be out this weekend. No Greg D. either. I thought for sure those two were going to get it on this weekend. Mikie was out, looking ready to race!!! Anyway, I jump in ROCKN69's Camaro and start pulling gears down to the short track. (BTW thanks ROCKN69, that was the first time I have driven a 4speed muscle car while). So we sit there and watch the ghetto bird circling the street with his lights off. I 2wayed Eric and told him not to race the white Z-28 just yet. we kinda sat there and watched as Johnny Law busted an import in mid solo pass. Sucks 2 B him. Hopefully for him its just a speeding ticket since he had no opponent. Once again whacking gears to the the old spot and we get there just in time to see the cops casing the place. The cops must have got an IMPORTANT call cuz they just left.(?????) Maybe it was because when we all went to see whats shakin' on the street it was a whole lot of nothing. I Spotted Larry (PRO Z from Houston) and asked if he wanted a go. I know he is always good for a race cuz he is a super cool guy that will pretty much race anybody... even Curt. We decide to go to the long track for that though. At the long track, 1st pass: the starter (I wont name names NORM!!!) did the 3 stage drop of the hands (some silly import thing) and neither driver new when to leave. BZZZZZZZZZZ, time for a lesson in flagging NORM! 2nd pass: this one got off good. PPE got PRO Z by 1.5 cars. 3rd pass: Heh heh heh. Now you know why I hate those shifters EC. PPE gets PRO Z out of the hole and goes from 1st to 3rd gear. (DOH!!!) PRO Z catches him and before he can get it all figured out, PRO Z is out on him and PPE cant reel him back. A win for each of them. I was going to stick around to see the red eclipse with the NHRA stickers chew on some new Vettes. (Double DOH!!) but it was about 3 am and I had been up for 24 hours already so we decided to call it a night.

    left races about 4pm to get car ready and try out the new mods on car...after testing we run into a couple of racers who tell us the spot is at 59th and buckeye we hang out there until 11pm and then start driving around..see some other racers who tell us that its on 67th and LOWER buckeye.. on the road again driving and looking but no cars or races??? we head back to the motel but no ones cars to be found..I guess my pager dosent work in butt-fuck nowhere..We did leave some nice marks and a couple hundred stickers on the street just to show we were there...heard from a good friend that there were some 8sec cars out looking for me, wish we could have found them, fun trip, fast cars and a waste of time for the T/A all in all it was worth it..Curt,Louis,Kory thats with a k and no E.......

    Hey, I just wanted to also post this here becuase of some events that went on last night. Not trying to step on your toes Rico, as I know you always to recaps on this board. Here is mine from CRG

    After a great day at the track, we went up to the lot as usual and got there a little bit later than normal. The lot was packed, mainly with looky loos. Alot of imports in the lot lately, causing nothing but trouble. Curt was challenged earlier for the trophy by GTX, but Curts car wasn't ready and from what I heard, he gave the trophy to GTX who in turn gave it back and said to wait until they race for it.
    Out at the lot, Dave V. and Greg D. happened to show up. Heard they both wanted a shot at the trophy, I guess Curt was gonna go get his car after all, but it was too foggy. Would have loved to have seen those races, they woulda been good.
    Well, the fog never lifted so it stayed a BS session in the lot most of the night. About 1 am or so, a black Jetta with neon crap glowing on the dash and a silver or light colored Ford Ranger king cab came screaming around the corner in the parking lot almost hitting N/B's daughter. The Jetta tore outta the lot with Mikie chasing him and the truck decided to just blow the stop sign because obviously he didn't want to deal with Mikie. Then stops at the end and flips us off, tears out of the lot and passed us on the street and ended up getting a bottle thrown at him as he threw one back at us. It amazes me that people really don't think enough about the consequences of what could happen in those situations. If the car or truck had hit her, they were going at a high enough rate of speed to have killed her. I guess they don't think about that, only that they think they are cool for doing whatever it is they were doing. It is definitely things like that that will get us ALL kicked out of the parking lot. Personally, Im at the point where Im ready to change lots and lose some of the idiots. Anyone else????

    Went up to the lot and did the usual chit chat thing. Met Eric and talked to him about the "good ol days". Nice meeting you Eric. Also met a guy named LuckyBMW from the SDsreetracing import board. I guess he came out armed with his digital camera to see what all the hubbub was and if he was out on the "old track" that night I am sure he got some good photos of said hubbub. The night started out with the usual po po infested short track. Leaving the gas station on the way to the old track Curt pulls out on to the street and guess who pulls up behind him? The man. Now I don't know if this was the guys intention or not, but some dude in a green(?) VW Jetta sees the man behind curt and puts the pedal down right past them. Cop forgets about Curt and chased down the Jetta. Jetta man, if you did do that intentionally to save Curts ass, he extends the utmost gratitude. If not, he extends a "best of luck" in court anyway.

    Down at the old track (no sign of 2FAST on the way down there. LOL) Curt gets bored and starts challenging people to a race for the trophy. There was a shit load of nice looking F-bodies and stangs down there but no takers. I think he even told one guy 6 cars OR 5 cars and the move. STILL no takers. WTF, I would have taken that. At best, maybe you could have taken home the trophy. At worst, you could say you had the nuts to line up with a 9 second car for a shot at it.

    Needless to say, racing was slow and uneventful that night until crazy ass mo fucker decides to do a FIREY burnout thru some VHT and VP on the ground. Photos and video comming soon (yeah right). After the show, some dipshit in a Stallion Mustang (white convertible) starts mouthing off saying how weak that burnout was so he decides to do one of his own. Since his mighty Mustang pushing all but 210 horses cant do a burnout worth a shit, he decides he is going to do some donuts in the middle of the track. Only problem is he cant drive worth a shit so he almost takes out a guy and his girl standing on the sidewalk. Dumbshit!
    (Do I sound angry?) So me curt and a few others get up in his crews face and it looks like a standoff. It was kinda wierd, the guy and his crew were very non-confrontational considering what I found out later. This dipshit or one of his crew is the person that pulled the gun on the short track 2 weeks ago. Nice eh?

    Almost forgot to mention. Kory (spelled with a K and theres no e in there) is racing his stang and po po starts chasing him. Crazy mofo Jr. decides he can get away so he puts the pedal down and does 100 or so thru the curves on "old track" and actually gets away. Way to go Kory!!!
    BTW the guy in the eclipse that smoked you last week (his words) says he will run you again.
    Anyway, I stuck around and talked to Brahm for a while and then left about 2:30 when the man broke up all that crazy standing around that was going on.

    On the CRG, June made a good point. I know there are people out there that are interested in going for the trophy, but where are they? Does anybody have any suggestions as to how the current rules can improve in order bring on new challengers? I hate to say it but when the trophy is placed out in the middle of the street next to the starter for people to see what they are going after, there is more interest and challenges from the import racers. Wuts wit dat? I think the current rules are pretty fair but does it need some additions/ammendments? I suggested that anybody making a challenge can be granted car lengths at the discretion of the holder but that idea was quickly shot down as somebody said that would not really indicated the fastest street car if a handicap was involved. So lets hear from everybody. Suggestions pleaze...

    Got up to the lot late but me, Norm and a few others tried to stimulate some competition for the trophy. Dave showed up with his car but had no fuel or N20 for playtime. At least he didnt agree to a race and then not show up. Went to the short track first and watched Corey put down a few times against some other Mustangs before he met his destiny against an Eclipse. Import guys go crazy (you know how big a deal it is when you beat a stock stang with 2.73 gears in it). Curt cant have that so he jumps in some dudes ride to go get his car. We're pulling out of the short track and as we're pulling out, a cop is pulling in, close one, short track is done... On the way to the next spot, stopped at the light on Balboa and Genessee "somebody" driving Corey's car got WAXED by a HOT (like Pure Platinum stripper HOT) Chick in a Late model stang that said 2FAST or something like that. LOL. nice going "somebody"!!! LOL, At the next spot... still trying to find people to race for the trophy. Pro Z from Houston, TX says he will go for fun, so he and Curt get motor/motor pass off and motor/system pass off. Interest in going for the trophy suddenly dissipates. We're at the second spot (you know the old spot that was recently revived) for a little while before 2 stangs line up and launch right towards the oncomming COP! Saw the cherries go on but didn't stick around to see what happened, but I'm sure it wasnt pretty. "Old spot" is done. back on the road looking for 2FAST (LOL) It's getting late, time to go home.

  • Saturday Night... 9/16 -- Rico, Sunday, September 16, 09:38:34pm
    Nothing worth mentioning went on on Saturday night. I hung out in the lot talking with ROCKN69 and friends and watched everybody go to the short track. 20 minutes later they were seen driving the other way headed for another old spot that has recently been resurected. 20 minutes after that they were all heading back to the short track. The cops must have been keeping everybody busy. I think a lot of people stayed home in preparation for the SRA race. Anybody have a report on that? Oh, and got to see 2 drunk guys fight over a beer at the lot.

    Is the FASTEST car at the SRA event the one with the best E.T slip of the day?? OR is it HEADS UP RACING first to the finish line wins??? I think you should have everyone race each other, until there is TWO left standing!!?? maybe a 40$$ pool winner take all!? Put names in a hat and draw who races who first round ect.....just a thought to make it more fun and fair for everyone..
