    Work is killing me! Had been up for almost 36 hours already before I decided I would roll out:-( Needless to say I was draggin ass the whole night. Togo's was the usual standing around talking etc. Dave V. showed up with his car and what do you know... he and Curt actually got along. Went to the short track and it was a nice change from the last 2 weeks. No cops the whole time we were there. Then again there wasnt much racing action going on besides the usual F-bodies and Mustangs doing their thing. Its amazing how much less people were out there (especially imports) since school is back in. Curt decided to liven things up a bit while doing some test and tune on his car. He got paired up with a crotch rocket and tore the thing up... bad! He didnt look like the most experienced rider in the world but still made for a great show. Next was the yellow LX Mustang on ET streets. Poor guy probably never knew what hit him. Just when I was thinking how cool it was that there were no cops yet... I see people start to get in to their cars and leave for no apparent reason. a guy in a read IROC drives up and says there is some guy down at the other end of the street waving a gun around. I never got to see who it was or if it was for real but I wasnt about to find out the hard way, so we left. Anybody know the story on that? Did Tony come out to the races again? I thought that guy was gone for good.

    Saturday night was a total wash!!! Same as last week. cops everywhere. I Think its due to the large number of people out right before school is back in. I saw something on the news where SDPD was bragging about making 67 arrests for curfew at the local street races (no doubt at the import races). Nevertheless, if you came out on Saturday then it was pretty much a waste of time. Will with that quick Civic hatch came out to the domestic hang out to intro himself and try to clear up some of the misconceptions being thrown around on the net about that race between him and Ricky. I think he also wanted to get a look at the Trans Am in action, but no luck, the TA never got off the trailer all night. sorry Will. He seems like a real cool guy and we will probably be seeing a lot more of him in the future. He also reminds me of the Curt of the import scene. He's definitely into "the Jug". Somebody was telling me that Will is not afraid to put a 180+ shot thru that Honda motor when all the other import guys brag about sqeezin a 60 shot. anyway, lets all hope for a better night next Saturday when alot of people will be back in school.

  • THE STREET RACING TROPHY ALMOST WENT HOME IN THE HANDS OF AN IMPORT RACER!!!!!!! -- Rico, Sunday, August 19, 03:11:06am
    Damn!! was street racing going off in San Diego on Saturday night or what? Even the imports were fast. Went to the short track first but got there a little late and the trophy was already in the hands of a Black 80's Firebird. a couple of Mustangs went for it but the Firebird did a pretty decent job of holding them off. Then... a Honda CRX pulls up and wants a shot at it. CRX basically put about 4 cars on the Fbird (no kidding). No other cars would come forward to try to take on the CRX. Curt had been saying F%#K the trophy all night but couldnt let it go home in the hands of a ricer. Long story short, Curt has the trophy. He will probably bring it out next week for others to race for. He says he does not really want it, just didnt want it to go home with a ricer. Eventually Ricky shows up and he and Curt get a pass off.

    Spot 2. I finally found out who Ravioli is cuz he raced the N20 Viper. That Camaro is pretty quick. looks like a low 11 car. Viper missed a shift and Ravioli's car wins. Ricky makes 2 motor passes against Ravioli's car. Ravioli's driver misses a shift on the first pass, second pass is a good one, cant tell who won. Then Ricky breaks off a Honda Civic hatch on the bottle (Ricky is on motor). this car is gutted but doesnt sound like much. Well... uh... it wasnt pretty... it didnt quite end up how we all wanted. Found out the Civic Hatch is a mid 11 car. Ricers are all clapping, cheering and talking shit. CANT HAVE THAT so Curt goes up to the guy and breaks him off. The guy (Will) recognizes Curt and says "Bro I know who you are and I aint going to race you. you will flat out smoke me" so Curt says he will put him 2 cars out. Will says no. Curt says 3 cars. will says no. Curt says 3 cars and the move and bling bling... its on. Not sure what happened though cuz they were ready to line up and then they called it off.

    Back at the short track. Still trying to work Will into a race. no dice. Will and his hatch back go home with some glory.

    Mr. Sand rail does not give up!! gotta give him credit for his peristence. This time he showed up with his Dodge Viper with lumpy cams and bottle. He breaks off EATS4DZ for 3 bills but insists that they go from a roll since he was on Michelin radials. EATS4DZ accepts and to make things interesting, puts him 1 car out on a rolling start. Long story short, Mr. Sandrail/VIPER got relieved of $300. But wait...Viper wants 1 hour and then go again. I want to get some $$$ in on this one so I can afford some new cylinder heads. Somebody in his group agrees that the next pass be for $$$ too, so we wait until 2:15am. he shows up and we go to the spot. right before they line up, Viper says its just for fun and no $$$ involved. Damn!!! just waited for an hour and my visions of some Brodix/Dart heads fading fast. Anyway, Viper gets drug again. This time he comes back and says he will meet next week and he will bump his shot to a 300 and wants to go again for $$$. EATS4DZ tells him to buy a set of slicks cuz if they go from a dig then there will be lotsa $$$ involved. Lets see what happens...

    nice eh? get the 15x8 for the rear with 275/60-15 tires and a 15x3.5 front with a 165 or 145-15R tire for the "big n' little" look.

    so after Curt races the sand rail things are kinda slow at this particular spot, My buddy who is riding with me and his daughter and her friend they wanna see some more. Decided to show them the crazy world of imports. We go Firehouse where it was a total mad house. cars parked 3 wide from the curb, cars racing 3 wide, etc. etc. So here comes 2 cars up the street and they stop right in the middle of things. one is trying to make a U turn to find a place to park. but here comes 2 cars behind them. they just launched and are racing towards the 2 stopped cars with no sign of lifting from either car as they approach. So one of the stopped cars starts its U turn and BANG, he gets his front end clipped by one of the racing cars trying to make it by. No major damage but the potential for serious injuries was there. Just an observation of the import scene and how stupid some drivers are.

    Well heres the scoop on Sat night. the sand rail actually showed up but this time he has a blue bottle in the back of the thing. He says he wants to race for $$$ so a bunch of us think Bottle + BFG Mud terrain tires + light weight = no traction OR heart stopping wheelstand. So people are thinking about going to the ATM to get some $$ in on this one. Then at the last minute, Mr. Sand Rail says he wants to go for fun. Probably saw people pushing eachother out of the way to get money in on EATS4DZ. So the race goes off and good thinking on Mr. Sand rails part cuz he gets drug.

    The short track was going off for hours last Saturday!!! got there a little after 12:00 and there was quite a few people and cars out there including some guy with a turbo 2300 sand rail with about 24" of travel in the suspension. Went to go check out a race between EATS4DZ and Dave (Dave a now show once again) at another spot and when we came back it was still going off for another hour!!!
