>Well, like the old saying goes, "location, location, location". The site is stuck between the River Center Mall and the River Walk.
Not counting the other sights in San Antone. If you cant something to keep you busy there, well.......
Outside of San Antonio is an area called "Adams Hill". After Twiggs surrender some of the troops out west were marching to the coast to leave Texas. They went off their appointed route and drifted towards San Antonio. Adams Hill which is about 20 miles from downtown (however now in city limits) looked like a good place to stop. The local militia was warned about these federals in their backyard. They set forward and after a brief battle surrendered. They were some of the few federal troops held for the duration of the war. There is a small marker in the middle of a housing development where the battle took place.
Hows that for useless trivia?
I hope you can convince the better half to come along and join us Mike. Wear either blue or civilian. However no ponchos with sunglasses, topped with mexican straw hats, we have enough of those already. Lastly gents ensure your guns are not loaded, it kinda runis my day as safety officer to look down the barrel of a loaded colt dragoon as the guilty party says "oops I forgot it was loaded", (true story).
BTW Jeremy, several of the 6th Texas said they are gonna don the blue suits as privates to help with the perponderance of gold braid.
Hope to see as many of you as I can. Ill be available by appointment only to have my picture taken with you. Please contact my personal assistant "Bubba Cheeks", for further information.

Dusty
