Pleasant Hill was quite Pleasant indeed. This was my second jaunt to the hallowed ground and I truly enjoy that location. Pleasant Hill seems to be traditionally billed as a Farb event but I want to encourage the members of the 26th/77th/TMLHA etc... to not talk up that part of it too much.

Since Mansfield/Pleasant Hill are becoming our backyard, I think we owe it to those that we are trying to help and those that we are trying to honor to do our very best to encourage the involvement of other like-minded units.

We have a astronomical challenge ahead of us in changing the hearts and minds of people at all levels in this obsession of ours. I am in no way innocent of verbally blasting farb but perhaps we can do less of that at the event and discuss it among ourselves on the trip home.

I would love to see us develop scenarios for the entire unit and treat Pleasant Hill as we are trying to do at Mansfield. It is gratifying to see the public impressed by our first person impressions, but think how it would feel to be complemented by the masses of reenactors themselves.

As the old addage goes, "Actions speak louder than words!"

Okay, you may knock me off of my soapbox now....I did have an enjoyable experience and look forward to extending our 3 mile march to a 15-Mile Preservation march in the near future.

YOS,

Beef!
