Jeremy,

See my responses to your responses in CAPS.

I KNOW THAT, AND NEITHER DO I CAST DISPERSIONS TOWARD YOU.

and 3.) I think Henrys

THEY WERE DOCUMENTED IN USE ON THE RED RIVER CAMPAIGN. CAN'T GET ANY MORE TRANS-MISS THAN THAT.

The event itself is not a Western event, but a Trans-Miss
>one as its thematic title of "Defense against the
>Northern Probe into Texas" implies.

THIS "SCENARIO" OF A NORTHERN PROBE INTO TEXAS, AS YOU KNOW, IS NOT AN ACTUAL HISTORIC EVENT. THEREFORE, THE POINT IS THAT THIS EVENT IS WHATEVER WE DECIDE IT IS, VIS-A-VIS THE TIMELINE/GEOGRAPHIC SETTING. UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMETHING THAT I DON'T, NONE IN THE EVENT STAFF OR OVERALL COMMAND STRUCTURE MADE ANY MENTION OF THIS AS A SPECIFIC TRANS-MISS REPLICATION SCENARIO. I WAS ONLY TOLD THAT THIS WAS TO BE A GENERIC SUMMER 1864 EVENT IN THE WESTERN THEATER.

Since the Henry
>is not specific to the Trans-MisS., I question the
>propriety of using at such an event.

ONCE WE FND OUT WHO BRINGS THEM, AND IN WHAT QUANTITIES, WE'LL MAKE ADJUSTMENTS TO PERHAPS CONGREGATE THEM IN ONE COMPANY/PLATOON. ESPECIALLY TO USE THEM AS FLANKERS ON THE MARCH. HOWEVER, IF ONLY A COUPLE OF OFFICERS BRING THEIRS, IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER. I LIKE UNIFORMIITY TOO, AND I'M NOT A TREMENDOUS FAN OF THE HENRY. I ALSO HATE THE HARDEE HAT, BUT THEY WORE 'EM. NO MATTER HOW MUCH I LIKE THE LOOK OF FORAGE CAPS ON ALL OF MY BATTALION. THE ONLY COMPLETE REG'T THAT WAS OUTFITTED WITH THE HENRY WAS THE 7TH ILL.

YEP.

>4. The use of repeating weaponry at events increases
>the risk of a "cowboys and indians" scenario.
>Granted, this is an abstract argument against Henry

>rate of fire incite their users to want to fire them
>more... usually from a vantage point around the
>enemy's flank.

I UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERN, BUT THIS IS TRUE ONLY IF THE OFFICERS AND NCO'S ALLOW IT. I DON'T PLAN TO ALLOW IT AND FRANKLY I DON'T THINK WE HAVE ANY OF THOSE KIND IN OUR BATTALION.

I APPRECIATE YOUR "STOMACH" CONTROL AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE. HOW MANY OF THE RSB'S WILL BE COMING? JUST MAKE SURE YOU SHAKE THEM DOWN FOR GRENADES BEFORE THEY COME...ALL KIDDING ASIDE, THIS IS A HOBBY AND WITH A LITTLE FORETHOUGHT WE CAN ACCOMODATE PEOPLE'S DESIRES WITHOUT COMPROMISING OUR STANDARDS.
