Greetings,

Just to let y'all know... There is a transcript on the Authentic Campaigner website of a Chatroom discussion held with Dom dal Bello last night. There was some interesting discussion, the highlights of which are:

-The AOP will field two battalions, each of about 6 companies of 30-40 men. 180-200 Officers and men total.

-1st Battalion will have as a guiding impression the 80th Illinois, and be commanded by Steve Dunfee. This unit will be composed of the WIG and other AOP elements. The 80th Illinois wore caps and frocks in the actual battle.

-2nd Battalion will have as a guiding impression the 105th Ohio, and be commanded by Chad Greene. This is basically the same unit which some of us fell in with at last years Perryville event.

-There will be a Friday march, begining about noon. Dom would like the battalions formed by Friday AM.

-The Brigade will camp in the field. Guard mount and picket duty will be performed, as will drill. An emphasis was placed on drill. One or both nights will be spent sleeping on arms.

-There will be possibly four battle scenarios, and brigade is recommending 120-150 rounds.

-All inspections, uniform standards etc., will be at the company levels.

-Registration is through the AOP only. $10 event fee, plus $15 for AOP rations, plus $7 for mailings and shipping. Total for the event is $32.

-Registration packets go out this week via email and snail mail (for those who need it.)

_-Lastly, on an interesting note, 140th Gettysburg was not absolutely confirmed as an AOP event for next year (at least that is how I read it). A mention was made of Pickett's Mill...
