>Company K, 6th Texas had three known hispanic officers, Lt Joseph Garza, Lt Eugene Navarro, and Captain Manuel Yturri.
Garza was killed in battle of Mansfield LA, in May, 1864, and Navarro was captured at the Battle of Franklin in November, 1864, while leading Company Kon the assault on the Union entrenchments.
Also the 8th Texas Infantry was formed in Refugio Texas, Trained in Banquette Texas. They were primarliy assigned to Indian Defense and coastal forts. However, they were called north fort he Red River in 1864 and fought in those battles in Wauls Legion. The roster was dominated with Hispanics.
Company B, 2nd Texas Cav., was formed in Bee County and was filled with Hispanics. Hope this helps?
