Phil,

Exactly what I meant! And, I have seen that comment made about the now dead alternative Sharpsburg event that Murley proposed to the mega event. I objected to it as loudly as I could.

Easterners have blinders on. They can't see past their little corner of the world. They forget anything exists over the mountains. They make grand, sweeping statements that have nothing to do with anyone but their little group. It drives me nuts. I take great joy in pointing out the "new and innovative" ideas they have are old hat in the west. There are some nice guys out there and some well-researched folks, but the mass is too uptight, over structured, and ooze an attitude. I'm generally laid back, but when I get around them I feel my tension level rise.

My comment about "over the top" in impressions now has a post to support it. Did you see the one where the guy asks what would be the appropriate eating utensils for an early war ANV impression? John Stillwagon's response was perfect: "Call me crazy, but I use a knife, fork and spoon. You can over think this stuff."

soldier on,

Joe
