Subject: OT: The Elm-chanted Forest

Well, I haven't been around much, and I thought I'd drop in to ask a question: has anyone here heard of a cartoon movie by the name of "The Elm-chanted Forest"?

The reason I ask is because I saw it a long (relatively) time ago. I rented it again fairly recently just for the heck of it (it was released on DVD) and realized something - the movie is freakin' hilarious!!!! There's a lot more humor in watching it as an adult (so much so that I think I hurt myself laughing). Let's see if I can summarize the plot (for those who haven't seen it *laugh*).

There's a painter - Peter Palette. He goes off into the forest to paint. Anywho, he chills by a tree for a while with his palette and easel. I think he falls asleep, and the tree bestows on him the ability to speak with the animals of the forest - as well as paint pictures of them that move - The Elm enchants his paintbrush as well. Okay, so good ol' Pete finds this out, and makes some friends in the forest. His friends include a bear (who's a former jock - football player), a beaver, a french fox, and this little sidekick fellow named Thistle - who happens to work for the evil villain of the cartoon (the Catus King - Emperor Spine), for a little while. If I remember correctly there's some sort of prophecy. *shrug* So Pete and his friends set off to thwart the evil villain's plan to destroy the desert. So yeah, they succeed, and they even manage to turn the bad guy into a good guy.

THE funniest part of the entire cartoon is where Peter Palette falls down a hole and held hostage by mushrooms (don't ask). The head mushroom leaves (to go to the little fungus's room, I guess *shrug*) and his second in command proceeds to basically taunt Pete in a musical number entitled "The Truffle Shuffle". I watched it with a friend and we couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. I highly reccommend it just for the laugh factor.
