Hi all -- Joss Whedon's new show FIREFLY is on again tonight (Fox, 8:00pm EST) -- tonight's episode is titled "Out of Gas". This ep was written by Tim Minear and directed by David Solomon.

You can find more info on the show at its official site -- http://www.fox.com/firefly/info.htm . There's also a weblog there with behind-the-scenes comments, and lots of other cool pages.

This week's TV Guide Online also has an article with Joss Whedon:
http://www.tvguide.com/newsgossip/insider/021025b.asp

Snippet from article:

"[This week's episode, 'Out of Gas'] has a number of flashbacks to how the crew got together," said Whedon, "so it's a really good way to learn how it all began. For somebody meeting the characters for the first time, it's a real insight into who they are. There's not all this information to process, which is a problem because the pilot was never shown. People are like, 'Um, what's going on?' The idea was never to confuse people."

Structured 'Pulp Fiction' style, 'Out of Gas' details the history of the Serenity and her crew in a series of flashbacks when Mal is injured after an explosion rocks through the Serenity and slowly depletes the ship of oxygen.

(End of article excerpt.)

Another good resource for the show (episodes, reviews, articles, discussion board) is http://www.fireflyfans.net/ .

Please, I'm begging you all to take another look at this series. I know it won't be to everyone's tastes, but...it just seems to me that it's only gotten better and better since its first episode. And where things have been looking pretty dim where science fiction television is concerned lately, I'd hate to see a brilliant new show die off due to low ratings before it even has a chance to really find its audience.

So please -- take a look.

Thanks! :)

Avalon
