Show opens, numerous people committing murders, all at
the same time across the country.
Shot of Sara on her couch tossing restlessly, obviously dreaming (blips of her dream, Lucrezia, firing the gun on an empty magazine). Shot of Ian in his bed tossing restlessly, obviously dreaming (blips of his dream, Lucrezia advancing on Sara, Ian being impaled). It is plain to see from the setting, clothing, words, that they are having the same dream. Sara wakes, the blade is gone. Ian wakes and sits up in bed (shirtless, this is MY version after all), sweating and obviously distressed.
Lucrezia seduces the boys outside the strip club.
Sara and co. investigate the murders, turning up
nothing, but amazed at how weird all the coincidences
are. After leaving the RNs apt, she heads over to
Talismaniac and she and Gabe consider the internet as
a way for many people to be hypnotized.
Lucrezia has killed the boys and has her little tete-a-tete with Irons in the limo.
Sara goes to the RNs house and looks at the internet,
finding the web-page Cyberfaust.net. She doesn't
enter, but calls Gabe: he is being distracted by
Lucrezia, who is attempting to confuse him, showing
At the station, Sara is stared at strangely by
everyone, and detained by the captain. He yells at
Sara that while Dante is on vacation, he's going to
keep the station clean, but they've all seen her name
on Cyberfaust as the one who killed Kenneth Irons. She
tells the captain she thinks there's a connection, and
he sends her back to her office, calling in Danny and
Jake to talk to them about her. When they discover
Sara has left, the captain shoots Jake and then advances on Danny. Danny kills him in self-defense before going to check on Jake.
Sara leaving hospital after checking on the still comatose Crunchybar. Ian stops her and tells her about his dream. Sara says, "I had the same dream." (an echo of what she said to Crunchybar in Palindrome). Ian warns her and tells her that the WB cannot kill anyone who has wielded it. There is an odd joy to his statement suddenly. Sara has a flash of the WB gulleting Kenny. Sara: When did you find this out, Ian? (stressing his name angrily) Ian (hurt):Very recently. Sara: So I can't kill Lucrezia when she comes after me and from the tone of your voice, I'm guessing Daddy-dearest is back in top form. Ian: Sara, he is all I have ever known. Sara storms off in a huff, leaving Ian staring at the pavement in front of the hospital.
At Gabe's, Sara gets on the computer to
Cyberfaust.net, Gabe straps her in and begins toward her to kiss her, but the look she gives him makes him hug her instead. He puts the earphones and cloth on her. She clicks on enter and meets digi-Irons.
Lucrezia comes in and attempts to subvert Gabe. He fights back, a futile effort. Lucrezia accidentally backs him into Sara and the black sheet and earphones get knocked off her. Sara falls to the floor, blacked out. Gabe goes through quite an assortment of items from his shelves, sword, mace, and failing those just starts throwing things. His hand lands on a funerary urn. He winces as he knows how much it costs (ever the businessman) but throws it anyway. There is a cloud of black dust as the remains of an Incan princess blot out sight for a moment. When the dust begins to settle, Lucrezia's eyes widen. Sara is now standing up in front of Gabe, her Glock drawn. Lucrezia smiles wickedly. Sara fires, but the bullets are deflected. Lucrezia advances on Sara, as in the dream, and sends her flying with a gauntleted backhand. Lucrezia is about to impale Sara on the WB when a black gloved hand intervenes.
Ian: Sara, leave.
Sara: I can't.
Ian: Leave now.
Sara (stunned and in a near whisper) This is just like my dream. (Her eyes widen as she realizes what is about to occur)
Ian struggles to keep the blade pointed away from Sara. Sara suddenly pushes Ian aside and the blade sinks into her gut. She grabs hold of the gauntlet, refusing to let go. Ian stares at Sara and she growls, "we're even now. A little help here?" at him. Ian pulls his katana from his coat and beheads Lucrezia. Gabe stares on in amazement and horror.
Sara, meanwhile, has fallen into reverie, and finds
herself face to face with Kenneth Irons on another plane.
She tells him that she has won, that she is no longer angry and forgives him. He isn't shocked or confused, but goes silent, no emotion showing on his face. At last he tells her she may have won the battle, but the war is far from over. Irons: We are truly enemies now. Sara: We were never friends.
Coming out of the trance, Sara is weak from blood loss
and the blade in her gut, but she is not dying. Ian and Gabe are looking at her and to each other, trying to figure out exactly what to do. The dilemma is solved for them as Irons saunters in. Ian bows his head as Irons comes to stand beside him and in front of Sara. Sara nearly convinces Irons to take the gauntlet, but at the last moment he sees the deception, realizes that she is trying to have the blade kill him as a pretender. He demands that Ian be the one to remove it. The expression on Ian's face is a combination of hatred and horror at what he is being asked to do.
Ian puts his back to Irons and slowly slides his hand into the gauntlet, leaning forward and whispering to Sara, "I'm sorry," before kissing her passionately. She doesn't resist. As the kiss is over, Ian pulls the blade out of her quickly and holds it aloft. Blue streaks of lightning pulse from the blade and over those in the room, driving Ian to his knees. He falls over, lying prone at Sara's feet. Everyone thinks he is dead, obviously. Sara kneels, as does Irons. Gabe calls to him, "Nottingham?" Irons calls to him, "Son?" Sara calls to him, "Ian?" His eyes open, a blue flickering replacing the normal color.
