Hmmm, I gotta agree about Ian. As much as I adored being able to see more of that amazing face, now that it wasn't continually downcast, I didn't like his character and the lack of interaction between the others and him, especially Sara. He was used more as a messenger than as a mysterious man of action, and I didn't like that. The virgin thing, eh, I could take him either way. Literally. ;} I enjoyed seeing him acting in a sexual way, although I would have liked it better with Sara...I think. I want Conchbar to stay on the show ~ they're so cute together. Also, the absence of Irons as a physical character [and not even as a ghost like S1-Danny, which I thought worked out well] ~ especially since the character was such a huge presence in S1 ~ was very distracting. Being the mysterious force behind things made more sense from him in S1 as a powerful captain of industry, multi-billionaire, somewhat-immortal, with a physical body, than in S2 as an MIA [how real would that be - a multi-billionaire disappears, and there's no frantic official action?], sort-of-but-not-really-ghost-in-the-machine.
I like all the characters involved, intertwined. I think too much attention was paid to the crimes this season and not enough to the characters, their motivation, their interaction. I think a full season really needs to be a possiblity. The time it's going to take to tell all these stories ~ the right way ~ really deserves a full season. Especially since the actors are going to be a year older every time, but the storylines won't be. I mean, this whole season was supposed to take place at basically the same time as the last, but in reality it was shot a year later.
