"pretty-pretty", to me at least, implies a certain amount of cutetess. I agree that Yancy is naturally beautiful, but she's not what I think of as "cute" or "pretty".
I mean, the women all women consider gorgeous
>>(Julia Roberts, Callista Flockhart(sp), etc) pale in

While Julia Roberts is certainly attractive, I wouldn't go straight to gorgeous with her and Callista doesn't do a thing for me. When thinking of gorgeous I lead more toward someone like Vanessa Williams (who comes to mind because I keep seeing those commercials for "Eraser"). She has a certain glamourous element that, to me, takes her past just being a natural beauty.

Undercover cop? Isn't she just a homicide detective?

I would be nice if they gave her a regular top. And while I love seeing a strong physically fit woman, she actually motivates me to keep working out, I keep thinkin' maybe she's turned the dryer up a little too high. ;)

I didn't think Lucy or Christina were particularly "made up". Aras on the other hand was "painted up like a race horse," as my dad used to say.

They were all appealing in their own way. Just goes to show ya, beauty IS in the eye of the beholder!

Could it just be their characters? Christina was in the sex business so keeping her very feminine would make sense. As for Lucy, again I think it's just the character. Could you see her luring those boys to a posh hotel wearing jeans and a leather jacket? They have made Sara more feminine this season and I like that. They layered her hair, gave it more curl and painted her toenails. No doubt she can be as sexy and feminine as any woman - just ask Daniel - but on the job every day it wouldn't make sense.

They seem to be able to attract at least a few well known stars.
Just my two, maybe three, cents ;)
