Accordng to Rif WInfield (British Warships 1712-1792) the Argyll of 1722 (50) was still in commission in 1748 when she was sunk as a breakwater at Harwich (13/11/1748).
in 1741 she was In Norris' fleet, taking a privateer in the Bay of Biscay on 1741/08/09 and continued in active service until early 1748.

The other ships you mention
Canterbury broken up to rebuild 1741/04 (out of commission since April 1740)
Hampton Court was Broken up at Chatham (completed in November 1741) but was involved in the Cartagena operations in April and May.
Newark was broken up to rebuild at Chatham (completed May 1741) but had been out of commission since 1736

I have the following ships listed as out of service in 1741
Name Rate
---------------- -----------------------
Hampton Court Third Rate
Newark Third Rate
Adventure Fifth Rate (Broken up)
Alderney Unrated Bomb (Hulked)
Anna Storeship (1741-08-28 scuttled of Jaun Fernandez Island as unservicable)
Galicia Third Rate (Burnt)
Greyhound Sixth Rate (Broken up to Rebuild)
Royal Katherine Second Rate (Broken up to Rebuild)
Kinsale Fifth Rate (Broken up)
Otter Unrated (Wrecked 1741/01/13)

There may be others as my data base is so far only complete for ships beginning A to R.

But there are none of the above could have been involved.

Hope this helps
