Beatson, Naval and Military Memoirs, III, 220, has the following order of battle for Bompar's squadron in the West Indies; it is likely that some of the names are garbled (alternative spelling in parentheses):
*Hector, 74, Capt. Rochfield (Rochfeld)
*Sage, 64, Capt. de Guichen
Courageux, 74, Capt. Cousage
Vaillant, 64, Capt. Clavier
*Defenseur, 74, Squadron-Commander Bompart [sic]
*Protée, 64, Capt. D'Hiquit
*Amphion, 50, Capt. Reviel
*Florissant, 74, Capt. Comte de Morville
Diadème, 74, Capt. Rossalliere
Frigates: Fleur de Lys, Amethyste, Voleur

When I did research on the battle of Lagos, I had reason to believe that the ships marked with an asterisk returned to Brest with Bompar in the fall of 1759; I do at this time know the source for that.
