French—ship names and guns, some captains, no crew numbers—from O. Troude, Batailles navales de la France, I, 134. This is presumably at the beginning of the campaign; he does not give separate orders of battle for the various actions. He has the English, too, but without most of the captains, and I would not rely on it. Demerliac might have the establishment crews but that would require looking the ships up one at a time. I might do that later if I find the time.

¹chevalier = "knight," probably a knight of the Knights Hospitallers of St. John of Malta, like many French and Spanish naval officers

³Troude's footnote: «La liste dressée par l'ambassadeur de Frnace à Londres place l'Orgueilleux à la 2e division et la Terrible à la 3e. La relation donnée par le chavalier de Valbelle constatant que le chef d'escadre Desardans commandait l'avant-garde, j'ai placé le marquis de Grancey à l'arrière-garde.»
