There is a good account of this action in Christopher Duffy's history of the Jacobite rebellion 'The 45' published by Cassell 2003. Excellent book by the way. I quote from page 365.
"On 2nd of May 1746 Captain Thomas Noel brought the sixth rate Greyhound 24, the Baltimore 14 sloop and the Terror 12 bomb vessel to attack the substantial french privateers Le Mars 36 and La Bellone 36 which had been landing arms and gunpowder on the rocky shores of Arisaig, so giving rise to a prolonged duel. The French, as was their custom, concentrated their fire on the masts and rigging, which was a particular danger to the British because the battle was staged so close to the shore. As a result Baltimore and Terror lost most of their mobility at the outset, and the British finally broke off the engagement after the pounding match had lasted six hours."
*Note. I have added the guns carried by each vessel.
