Subject: REINFORCES TO DE GRASSE FLEET 1782

hello guy can you help me with this:
In april 12 of 1782 the admiral franch count de grasse was defeat by the british fleet under rodney.
the french fleet under second command de vaudrauil took refuge in cape francois with 25 ships of the line.
Question:
Why the french goverment not dispatch inmediatly after know the defeat a reinforce squadron to Vaudrauil?
In france had 8 ships of the line availables under Lamotte-Piquet: Invincible, Bretagne 110 guns and 6 74s.
Why not was send to the west indies?

Why not was send before the battle because De Grasse expect this reinforces?
thanks
andres
