Hello all,

We are very excited to announce that we are formally accepting applications for the Nita Robinson Scholars Program. The program is the result of a $1 million endowment from J. Mack Robinson to honor his wife, Nita. (Now that is some kind of honoring ... ). The objective of the program is to encourage students to further their understanding of the global business environment through experiential opportunities such as study abroad programs and internships. Students must have a 3.5 or higher GPA, currently enrolled in a degree program in the College, and beginning their 3rd or 4th year at undergraduate level OR completing the first year of their Master's degree.

I am attaching the announcement file which outlines the eligibility requirements, what applicants need to submit, and other related details. The deadline for submission is July 24, 2000.

We are doing a mailing as well but given the short time frame, please mention this opportunity to your students and make the announcement available to them in class. The application and related information will be available on our web site at: www-cba.gsu.edu/wwwiib. The awards will be up to $2500 and up to 10 awards will be made this first year. This is fabulous opportunity for students to stretch.

Thanks very much. If you have any questions, let me know.

Karen
