Post 229 A: 37 Y-DNA and mtDNAplus.

I have recently taken a 37 marker Y-Chromosome test for my male; father's, father's, father etc. and a mtDNA plus test for my mitochondrial female ancestor. It seem by my Y-DNA test results that my ancient male ancestor is of the R1b Haplogroup. Or, to be more specific, I am of the R1b1b2 Haplogroup. The R trace marker is usually of caucasian origin and first begins in the region of the Caucasus Mountains, from which we get the name Caucasian. To be more specific the R Haplogroup seems to begin just east of the Caspian Sea in the area of Kazakstan and Uzbekistan, around the Aral Sea.

Line R1 moves north. Line R2 moves into northern India. The R1 line geneticlly separates. The line continuing into norther Europe becomes R1a. The line moving into southern Europe becomes R1b.

My mtDNA is:
HVR1 Mutations
1. 16 069 T
2. 16 126 C
3. 16 193 T
4. 16 519 C

HVR2 Mutations
00 073 G
00 150 T
00 152 C
00 263 G
00 295 T
00 309 .1 C
00 315 .1 C
00 489 C

Haolpgroup, Low Resolution Matches (HVR1)
J1d Bulgaria (142)
J1d Iran (171)
J1d Iraq (179)
J2 Austria (447)
J2 Azerbajan (68)

J2 England (2001)
J2 Ireland (1454)
J2 Scotland (727)
J2b Ireland (1454)
J2b Netherlands (216)

This still does not answer the question of the Puryear DNA. Since it is in the Y-Chrom factor one would need to test someone on the Puryear male side. I get my Puryear descendency through my mother's, mother's, mother line.
Until next time,
