I had the exact same problems as you and was finally put on a medication called Questran. It was like a miracle. I felt as though my life had been saved. I was afraid to go out of the house before because I always needed the bathroom. You can e-mail me at mariajbx069@yahoo.com if you would like more info....Marie

I had mine removed in 2003 after a lifetime
of attacks. I was in pain off and on several months after surgery. They sent the
scope down my throat and everything was fine. Every few months I would get an episode
of pain that only lasted 15 minutes tops. I felt like I had to move my bowels but
it was normal not diarrhea. The last 2 episodes I had (which were a year apart thank
goodness) have been horrific. The last one was just this past Tuesday and I thought
I was going to die. It starts out as the usual gallbladder pain but then it radiates
into my whole stomach area. The pain is like nothing I have ever experienced and
cannot possibly describe the severity. It feels as if something is going to rupture.
I sweat profusely and turn pure white. I have collapsed to the floor during these
last 2. Again it was probably over from start to finish in 30 minutes or less.
Normally when this happens the pain subsides and it's like nothing ever happened.
However this time I have tenderness in the gallbladder area. I have been reading
about the bile duct they leave behind and how it narrows and that is what causes
the pain. Every single person I know that has had their gallbladder out still has
problems. I read where they can put the scope down your throat and put a stent in
the bile duct to widen it but this would have to be done every so often. If you
have any news to share with me I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi I have the same pain that you are describing. My episodes also last about 15 to 20 minutes and the pain is so bad that I have felt like I was going to passout. I have had 4 episodes since November of 2006 which the last three have been only a week apart. And the pain is so bad that after the pain is gone it leaves me so tired that I have to sleep the rest of the day just to gain my energy back. Another question when you go through your pain does it effect your back also?
