I just had my gallbladder removed March 2004 and as I can see I'm not alone with the diareah and stomach cramps and sweating. I'm finding that if I eat fiber and bananas it helps some. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it all. I hope it gets better. I take prilosec at night because some times bile comes up when I'm laying down. I have alot of gas and bloating and I seem to eat less than I did before it seems I'm fuller faster. The doctor said I had a fatty liver??? what does that mean???

i too have had my gb out 5/2004 i have had some loose bowel movements and constipation. i have been reading a very helpful book called the liver cleansing diet by dr sandra cabot. i did this diet before the surgery and have begun it again as i have had irregular bowel movements and feel tired still. when i was on it i had regular bowel movements every morning. it is very important to watch what you are putting in your body. fats and sugars are very harmful to some one w/o a gb to help break it down. now your liver has to do all the work. if you can read the book as it explains all about fatty liver. i hope this was able to help.

>I can honestly say, "I know how you feel". I have been battling diahrea, cramps, severe localized colon pain, sweating, nausea, chills, severe gas and bloating. I am miserable and have been for over 8 years now. Doctors don't seem to know what it is. I just know all the symptoms started after my gallbladder was removed in 1991. I can't sleep or eat without fear and pain! It has taken over my life! I hate it and as you said, no one wants to believe that you are in such severe pain. You name it, I have tried it. I am still looking for answers. I don't know what I have.....

Had my GB out 3/2/05. After about 10 days, I had problems. I went to my herbalist and she recommended Psyllium and Intestinal Sooth and Build. Within about 10 minutes of taking the Psyllium, the gut gurgling stopped and I have not had any problems with diarrea, bloating or gas. I eat lots of veggies and lean meats, salads, (basically low carb) etc and was told I wasn't getting enough fiber. Problem solved. Try to cut back on soda's especially diet. I'm sure GNC carries these products also. Hope this helps.
