multiple trailers drive in slowly, pulling to a quiet halt near wooden corrals. a well-dressed man stepped from the first truck and tacked up a sign on a large tree, it read: all horses have been abused and are free!. then he began to direct one trailer into the gate of the first pen. finally they had it right, and two young, strong men leaped the fence and pulled down the ramp... <<

black mare bolted from within the dim light of the trailer, galloping straight to the other side of the corral, then wheeling to a halt. she tossed her elegant head up and whinnied shrilly. <<

1996 Black Kabarda
Named: Wild Flowerz
Nicked: Flowerz
Markings: none
Gender: mare
Aged: seven years or so
Attitude: flightly and wild. she has lost most trust for humans, but with time it can be gained back. easily frightened and will run, rather than fight. with good handling she will be a wonderful horse!
Owner Pref: someone with [preferably] their own stable. you must be able to handle this flighty mare and have enough patience to gain her trust.
History: was purchased by a wonderful farm, but after a terrible fire, all their stock was sold. an older man wanted a horse for pulling work and bought Flowerz because she was cheap. he beat her over and over because she was shy and wouldn't listen. Rescue Horses found and saved her.
Injuries: old whip scars line her back, haunches, and head. her legs seems to be slightly injuried, but not badly.

a smaller, very thin pony trotted unsteadily out of the trailer, stopping near the fence and letting his head drop hungrily. <<

1993 Dappled Chestnut Jutland Pony
Named: Mad Hatter
Nicked: Hadi [hay-de]
Markings: flaxen mane and tail, slight white dappling, 'furry' hooves.
Gender: stallion
Aged: ten years old
Attitude: doesn't fully trust humans yet, but is quickly coming around. he dislikes crowded places or loud noises, but with love will get better.
Owner Pref: someone without a noisy, crowded barn and preferably someone with children. you need plenty of patience to fully turn him around. he will be a wonderful child's pony!
History: was purchased for a family's young daughter. when she grew up and didn't want him anylonger, the family didn't know what to do with a pony. so they simply left him in this makeshift shed/stable without some food and water, but no excersise and really no room to move. Rescue Horses saved him.
Injuries: is very, very thin and needs plenty of TLC and feed to fatten him up. otherwise is okay.

slowly, an older dappled grey mare lumbered from the trailer. her head hung low and she wearily nudged the owner, who laughed softly and stroked her ears. <<

1990 Dappled Grey Highland Pony
Named: Irish Ice Flake
Nicked: Iri [eye-ri]
Markings: darker on neck and legs, lighter on body, white on face.
Gender: mare
Aged: thirteen years old
Attitude: is a sweet and gentle horse despite her past. she is still weary and tired, but with enough food and TLC, she will be a wonderful pony.
Owner Pref: someone willing to work with her a lot and preferably have children. she needs plenty of TLC!
History: was purchased as a young foal, but was worked way to soon. she was passed along to different owners all her life, travelling to different fairs for pony rides. she was rescued from a small, dark, windowless room a month ago.
Injuries: she is still slightly thin and has been worked hard, so will need plenty of rest.

with a splitting whinnie, a powerful gypsy vanner colt bolted from the trailer. wheeling, he reared upon taut hind 'quarters, small ears plastered to his skull. <<

1999 Black and White Gypsy Vanner
Named: Cushti Japan
Nicked: Japers
Markings: black and white paint
Gender: colt
Aged: almost four years
Attitude: fiery and wild, he thinks he is the king of the world. does'nt trust humans yet, and actually fears them visably. [ie: halters will send him off into a frenzy right now]
Owner Pref: someone will can control this powerful young horse and gain his trust with patience and gentleness, not force.
History: was beaten badly when he was young, then simply ignored after that. he was only cleaned up and excersised when the vet came to check over the horses. was rescued from a pitch-black, cramped stall.
Injuries: many old scars covering his hind 'quarters, legs, and his shoulders. but he is no weaker despite it.

at a fast trot, a golden lusitano mare exited the trailer. tossing her eloquent head, she whinnied and bolted to the other side of the paddock. <<

1997 Golden Palomino Lusitano
Named: Black Daisy
Nicked: Daisy
Markings: pale cream mane and tail
Gender: mare
Aged: six years old
Attitude: nto much is known about her, except that she won't let anoyone near her back...
Owner Pref: someone who can gain her trust and eventually saddle and ride her. she doesn't spook unless you try to put something on her back.
History: was a wonderful dressage horse and was living a great, expensive stable. she was spooked during one dressage show and threw the owner's daughter, paralyzing her. the owner went into a rage and began to beat the horse with the buckles of a saddle, until one of the stablehands and his daughter stopped him. Daisy then went to Rescue Horses less than a week ago.
Injuries: has a few scars on her sides and back, though nothing serious. is mostly just scarred mentally.

one of the men led down a beautiful, bay morgan stallion and tied him loosely to the side of the trailer. he tossed his head elegantly and whickered. <<

1995 Bay Morgan
Named: Nevada Eagle
Nicked: Neva [ne-va]
Markings: thin, white star
Gender: stallion
Aged: seven years
Attitude: arrogant and confident, but sweet to people he knows. dislikes small children, but will tolerate and never hurt them.
Owner Pref: you must be able to handle his arrogant behavior, and keep him healthy and proud. he will/is a wonderful breeding sire, with perfect bloodlines!
History: has never been abused nor harmed and was purchased from a wealthy family.
Injuries: none
[only one not free]Priced: $17,500

a glossy, dark chestnut mustang mare cantered from the trailer with ease. crow-hopping, she finally eyed the humans without trust and let her lovely head drop. <,

1997/8 Chestnut Mustang
Named: Binti
Nicked: Binti
Markings: white blaze and two white socks
Gender: mare
Aged: somewhere between five and six years
Attitude: completely wild and has never been touched by humans, except to be pushed into a trailer or corral.
Owner Pref: you must be able to handle and gain her trust. she should probably be kept in a corral or pasture at first, rather than a stall.
History: was only captured a week ago from her homeland, which was being destroyed.
Injuries: none, but the occasional self-inflicted cut or bruise.

binti squealed at the touch and bolted away, eying both humans with distrust. small, pert ears plastered to her finebred skull, sending a strand of black mane down her forehead. <<

the young man laughed at the girl's ethusiasim and shakes her hand merrily. whoa, careful there. she is a bit wild. a grin curved his lips. requirments? well, i would suggest keeping her in a large corral or pasture at first. she'll spook if in a stall, if you could even get her in one. he chuckled at this, ice-blue eyes watching the tawny mare carefully. Binti has just been brought in from the wild and is a very tough little lady. she seems to calm a bit with people she's a bit more familiar with, though i'm the only one to every actually touch her for a moment. a sigh escaped his lips just then, before turning his attention to the girl. do you know anything about caring for wild and untamed horses? <<

tawny female whinnied suddenly and still eyed the pair of two-leggers with dark, intelligent eyes. <<ience to gain her trust.
