this two lines, puts an accounting on ppp1 interface
iptables -A FORWARD -i ppp1 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -o ppp1 -j ACCEPT

and then you can see the counters with:
iptables -L -n -v -x

another way is just to type: ifconfig ppp1 and you will see the whole traffic passed by this interface
