Subject: predjudice

I`m an old man, I guess you could call me an elder. I`v been involved in these native ways for about 50 years.My greatgrandfather was Jim Cook,the brother of William Tutle Cook ,of the infamous Cook gang of Ok in the 1890s.If you know anthing of that history,then you would know that they were original Indian outlaws.
I`m of mixed blood of many nation,Tsa-la-g-/Muskogee,Celtec,and even some African.I have Grand children that are part japanese.The longer we reside in this world the more diverse our linage becomes.
The probablem sometimes comes from some of these so-called native Holy men.Whenever someone other than a card carring native decides to practice the religion ( native ),they act like they are the religion police.I`v even been to a couple of ceremonies when one of these self appionted elders got up and told all the non natives to leave.One even said that unless you prayed in Lakota, the Creator would not hear you.
Of course most of the places I`v been,the people don`t practice exclusion.But it can be very discourging for some that is attending a ceremony for the first or secound time.One thing for sure, whenever anyone comes to my lodge,they are part of that sacred circle, no matter where they come from.
My wife is Navajo,and we have many friends.All our friends are spiritual red,yellow,black,and white.It isn`t Mother Indian, it`s Mother Earth.

Ps I don`t have one of those mystical Indian names,but I`v been refered to by many names.One is bees-ni-ahthu ( Hairy White Man )
