We don't need to know much about HK politics here before we have paid a bit attention to what we should acheive in Gay Movement. (Gay Movement? Quite a new term , right? Jesus Christ!)
If ther is forces helping, it may be a chance to make progress. If there is not a DEMAND, there is no CHANCE of real progress.
There is no one representing us for agitating some law (at least)o protect the gay group. Since the decriminalization of homosexual activities in private , there has been NOTHING¡@IN PROGRESS for us in legal aspect.
This is the gay right that we should have be granted, and
a protection to many others being discriminated.
The fact is that, most countries do have laws protecting discrimination on sexual orientation eg Japan, Taiwan, many European countries, USA..etc. , How about us, HK?
Nope, we have NOTHING! There is only 1 or 2 gay man organization paying attention to agitate for us in legal aspect. However, we see NO lesbian organizations striking for it. Though they have really paid much EFFORT in organizing gatherings for enlarging the group & maintain the solidarity of us..THX for that..there's nonetheless NOT EVEN A SLIGHT TOUCH on topic of discrimination. (in fact, i have sent emails to a gay -friendly Legco member asking her to voice for us).
Btw ,there is indeed a need for it, and we can't just turn a blind eye to that. Even a lesbian district councilor having got her votes from her slogan - > protecting the minority-group, has simply denied agitating for the gay/lesbian group is part of her job. What's for to be in politics then? Don't feel bit ashame of it?
