I think the joint delcaration from Tongzhi groups is way too far. When I learned CR4SD was asking for join signate of this letter, I was going to write against this. Later I learn this was dropped then I thought we have some sense. I am very disappointed seeing this letter is out of net.

Rainbow did earn bad publicity from the action. However, the religious groups has long history oppressing gays and lesbians. AND THEY ARE NOT LISTENING to us. There are many strategies towards the gay movment. And radical movement is only part of it. If we feel this radical movment would have adverse effect to all the good thing that others built, we might be a bit underestimate what this radical movement can do. One also argue that the Rainbow was intervening the service is a selfish act and there are other means getting our message across. Do we think a polite message we give even on media can bring such kind of notice. I do, however, agree that Rainbow has not package their action more properly such as follow up action etc.

Do we remembered the day that we did a DIE IN at Mahattan Bridge and paralysised the whole New York City? What is the different of Rainbow storming into the chruch?

I agree there can be different opinion within the community but ganging up all organsiations together by a few groups of people is pretty bad. I can hardly see this is any unity among gay groups in HK.
