Subject: hi CY, first of all, congratulations for getting married with your partner!! secondly, i think it's worth to ask the HK immigration department about this kind of issue, cuz given that so many countries in the world have started performing same sex marriages/partnerships, the hk govt has to do something about this kind of immigration issue sooner or later. i believe Roddy Shaw of Civil Rights for Sexual Diversity is dealing with this kind of issues, perhaps it's worth to check out with him. you can find his contact from the CR4SD website: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cr4sd/ Good Luck! Subject to the satisfaction of all relevant immigration requirements, a dependant visa may be granted to a spouse to join his/her sponsor for residence in Hong Kong. The marriage between the couple must be monogamous and the voluntary union for life of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others. It must also be recognized by the Laws of Hong Kong. 3. For persons who are not married to a Hong Kong sponsor, but are committed to each other as persons who are married, they are not covered under the dependant policy to join his/her sponsor.
