 從前有位學僧跟從一位法師學道，但學了一段日子，都是在寺院中做一些常務工作，他但覺好像沒有學到什麼，於是有一天就向師父道明並告辭了。師父回應說我每天都在教你呢！學僧問那佛法是什麼？師父道吃飯時吃飯，睡覺時睡覺！學僧聞言開悟。

佛教說的在正確的條件下做正確的事，是禪宗大義。是說明人在任何環境中，只有看好當下的心，吃飯時就要好好的吃飯，不好打妄想，睡覺時就睡覺，不好在胡思亂想，錯失做這件事的本意。這是培養人有一種看好每一個當下，心意隨緣放曠，當你專注一心時，又有一種直進不知的勇猛心。外國很多國家級運動員原來都接受過禪修訓練，例如弓箭手之類，經過禪修訓練後，真能大大提升他們的表現。

每天大自然都在為眾生說法，每天太陽都起來沒有失誤，這就是太陽都在做正確的事，若有一天太陽不再正確時，一切眾生都受影響。
