Welcome all to the Miss USA forum. This is a place where you all can discuss in a rational and civilized manner, things pertaining to the Miss USA pageant, its state preliminaries and past winners/contestants etc..

But what will not be allowed in this forum is bashing, offensive words, attacking language or racial bashing in any way, either in posts or replies.

When posting pictures, please size them at a reasonable size, so the board can load up smoothly, pics that are very large, or many medium size pics at once, provide the link to them instead and also do not line up many pictures right next to each other or it will not be accepted.

Yeah, I think we are all pretty shocked when powerhouse countries (who consistently make the finals or win, like India and Puerto Rico) fall out of the finals. But truthfully, they haven't been sending the same calibre of women these last few years. Maybe their removal from the finals will bite them in the butt enough to get it together next year!! We haven't had a winner since 1997 who was of Asian of decent, 1995 was Bi Racial, 1980 was Caucasian. Not that race has anything to do with it, USA is long overdue. Last time Venezuela won was 96 so maybe next year?

I think we all had high hopes for Crystle and was comparing her to Chelsi Smith. We all hope that she would be victorious because she had the same initals , she was the 2nd Afro American to be crowned from Texas. Instead, what we got was a repeat of last years Miss Universe pageant. Life doesn't always turn out the way we always want it to. Because there is so much being said he has been instructed to start translation midstream. This is better than the translater forgetting some of it. The girls are aware of this. When the contestants are speaking, they should not be interrupted during their answer. They need to find someone who has a brain that can remember all that is said. I used to watch with my roommate (at the time) from Venezuela and he would tell me what they really said - it was soooo infuriating! I can always remeber her, en excellent interpreter. There was a story behind why she no longer interprets for Miss Universe. I think she would fair better had she spoken in Spanish. For example, listen to the interview segment for Dayanara Torres in 1993, then listen to her give her a year later with her farewell speech and the tour of the Philippines. Same can be said of Alicia Machado although she had a thicker accent. Oooh not bad. Not bad at all. Miss USA's fall created a new wave of ratings. I was at the gym and saw her in the news, and I'm in Canada. I can only imagine how much she is being talked about in the States.
