Subject: Cup holder problem

I have a 1997 ES, and I recently bought a radar detector that I plug into the cigarette lighter. I have to pull out the compartment that holds the ashtray and I can no longer use my cup holders for drinks or to put my cell phone in them. I was wondering if anyone with radar detectors could give me some suggestions...
