Subject: Bunnys and the unending questions

I am a new bunny lover, I have 4 cute bunnys, they are about 4 months old now, a black boy his name is Queeny (we didnt know it was a boy), a white w/black around the eyes and grey ears and a slinder black stripe down the middle of his back this is Gizmo, we call her Giz or Gizy, then we have a white male with red eyes his name is Scmidrick(the magician off the cartoon The Last Unicorn)(My daughter picked this name out), then the last but not least is the wonderful blue grey bunny her name is Merlin, but like I have said we didnt know their sexes when we rescued them. I rescued the babys that was all I could save. There were 7 babies and the mother but I couldnt save them. Well i have a few questions. I am having problems potty training all 4 rabbits. I have 5 litter boxes out in the livingroom where they play plus the cage has a litterbox in the bottom. I used shoeboxes, is this the reason that they don't seem to be interested in it? I have been using shredded newspaper, but then I read about using there food pellets so I got another shoebox out and filled the bottom with the pellets. All they wanna do is pee where the shoeboxes aren't but then I move the shoeboxes to where they pee and they will go next to it but not in it. This is very frustrating, You know how awfully smelling their urine is. I have also made boxes into toys by sticking them in corners, turned on their side and filling them with newspaper. Is this confusing them? They love the boxes, cause they can dig and move the newspapers around. I have my little bunnys in a cage together. Only because they are let out for most of the evenings. I would like to make my own cages do you know where or how I can do that? I was thinking about buying several cages and modifying them. I want a cage that is very tall that has platforms and hammocks and stairs. With boxes on the sides attached to the wire so that I can make them sand boxes and beds. Does anyone know of a fairly cheap way of doing this? O.K. the last thing for now is that my female Merlin in having a diarrhea type feces and I am finding that the other female is getting that too! I don't know what to do?But Giz her feces has been very large and very small. Little one second and huge the next. Is it the food? Oh ya there is one more thing but I guess with rabbits you have hundreds of questions. The questions never end. I would like to have some plants in the house that the rabbits can eat at there leasure, is this a good idea? Is it more work than it is worth? I love house plants, but I don't want to get toxic ones cuz I love my bunnys. Does anyone have a list of house plants that are nontoxic and maybe some that the rabbits will love to eat? HOw do I keep my rabbits from going under the couch. I have taken the legs off of one couch but the legs of the other couch dont come off. We have a recliner they like to crawl under it. Please help!!!!! Though I would never give up my rabbits cuz they dig, or chew up furniture (though I havent has that problem yet). Oh to let you know i also have a large dog, german shephard siberian husky mix, I also saved him. The rabbits love him, he is just a puppy but he is very large. Hany is his name, the name isn't english it is Hindi.( I rescues Hany from the local Humane society) I will be getting 2 kittens soon I am also rescueing them as well. The mother has dissapeared and left the kittens to starve. They are about 3 wks old. I hope that they will be friendly with the rabbits. Since they are so young I thought about trying to raise them with the rabbits, in their cage so that the rabbits and the kittens become like family. Is this a good idea or will my rabbits try to hurt the baby kittens? Has anyone tryed this? Well thanks.
