Jani,
I have a french lop that recently gave birth to 7 bunnies. I have had to ask a lot of questions and do quite a bit of reading.
Mother bunnies need to be in a quiet, non-threatening place once they have given birth. The male bunny has to be kept away! The the male is her worst enemy during this period of time. If the mother is stressed or feels that her babies are being threatened, she will eat them, rather than seeing them get hurt. Also, if the babies are ill, the mother will reject them. Make sure the babies have a good nesting box with hay and fur.
Give the mother celery. It makes her thirsty and, thus making her want more water. This is good for her milk supply.
Hope all goes well. I have a great book on bunnies, but I haven't been able to find it in the last few days! When I do, I'll give you the name of it. It has been a great big help.
Debbie
