Subject: Sleep

I'm 87, still active and lucid." Nothing To Be Frightened Of" omitted a most important step in our confrontation with
death. That is sleep, which is a nightly rehearsal of death.
We lapse into unconsciousness for eight hours and enter into
a bizarre world of dreams, knowing we shall awaken to our
real world again. Death must be a near similar experience
without the waking up. Whether we enter a dream world is the
great unknown. But we are accustomed to closing our eyes and
drifting off without fear so perhaps the long sleep is not
too unlike the nightly one.
