Subject: playing psx isos

Can anyone tell me why is it that when i play my burned image copy the screen becomes annoyingly choppy and has no color at all. I cant seem to figure out what i am doing wrong and cannot find a sliver of useful information on the net. If u can help i would be very grateful.
