Subject: HK media Ping Bao speaks up for Bingbing

the alleged panty scandal where the chinese media accused bingbing attending a fashion show in Milan without wearing a panty comes to a closure by an investigation done by mainland media Youth Weekly and a statement from HK newspaper Ming Pao.

Ming Pao released a statement yesterday telling the public that after receiving some many phone calls from the mainland media regard this issue, the newspaper decided to clear bingbing's name. The image was given to them by Just Cavalli, the Italian designer which bingbing was invited to attend their fashion show, and there was no "dark spot" on the original image!

Youth Weekly, a chinese newspaper was doing an investigation on their own after some online calling the image manipulated. The source came from Xing Cheng Online(xing cheng zai xian), who was first to report this incident and accused bingbing went naked under her skirt, and on surprise, the bomb went off, and their report got picked up by all the major news media in country, as well as in HK. The jounalist who penned this report on Xing Cheng Online said that she was only reporting that she didn't distort the image in order to generate public attention. But the investigation done by Youth Weekly found that the original image given by the Italian to HK newspaper Ming Pao was around 300kb with clear details on the texture of the skirt, yet the image reported on Xing Cheng Online was reduced to only 30kb with a questionable dark spot. Youth Weekly concluded that they can't find the image was intentionally distorted, and blames the file size of the image for the cause of this misunderstanding.

Ummm, interesting! well, first of all, my appreciation for Ming Pao and Youth Weekly for clearification but got some questions for Xing Cheng Online. Motive and intention are often hard to prove in trials, although there is no evidence showing that Xing Cheng Online purposely distorted the image, but why reduced the file size? why jump to conclusion and accusion before find out the truth, and lastly, why toned the report that was purposely to mislead?
interesting!!!
