Hi Phil,
Cycling horizontal tearing means you still haven't locked the decoder even though it's close. I have never been able to get 16f84Dan code to work. I still think you will get success if you use paldig.asm after a small modification to lock onto non split sync systems. The timing is perfect for Pal. Just move the sampling time a little and the picture will lock rock solid onto suppressed sync. No need to invert sync as your just trying to lock onto it.
Get the picture to lock and then you can solve any other problems such as inverted picture.
