Hi Mike.
After a few weeks away, no joy with paldig code, the system here must be incompatable. Have managed to iron out the probs with 16f84dan.asm, however still dont know how to code the chip to invert the video. The pic chip is locking, as before, and is stable, however the video is always inverted. Before the pic processor, I tried an inverter using an op amp and the result was ok however suppressed sync was causing dropouts.
